Past Continuous Tense




  
Affirmative Sentences
 
Structure: Subject + was / were + v1 + ing + on + other words.

Examples:

1.मैं तुम्हारे बारे में सोच रहा था  ।
I was thinking about you .

2.मेरी पत्नी मुझसे लड़ रही थी ।
 My wife was quarreling with me.

3.गौरीशंकर बिसेन भाषण दे रहे थे ।
Gaurikshankar  Bisen was delivering a speech.

 4. शिक्षक उत्तर पुस्तिकाएं वितरित कर रहे थे|
 The teachers were distributing the answer copies .

5.लड़कियां मेकअप कर रही थी |
The girls were doing makeup

Negative Sentences

Structure: Subject + was / were + not  + v1 + ing + on + other words.

Examples:

 1.मेरा दिमाग काम नहीं कर रहा था |
My mind was not working.

2. शिक्षक कॉपी नहीं जांच रहे थे|
 The teacher was not checking the copies.

3.पालक गेट नहीं खोल रहे थे|
 The parents were not opening the Gates.

4 .बारिश नहीं हो रही थी|
 It was not raining.

5.हम लोग तुम्हारे बारे में चर्चा नहीं कर रहे थे|
 We were not discussing about you.

Interrogative Sentences

Structure: Was / Were + subject + v1 + ing + on + other words ?

Examples:

1.क्या अनिल बस का इंतजार कर रहा था ?
Was Anil waiting for the bus?

 2.क्या दीक्षा मैडम ठंडा पानी पी रही थी ?
Was Diksha madam drinking cold water?

3. क्या शिकारी हिरण को ढूंढ रहे थे?
Were the poachers searching a deer ?

4.क्या लड़के प्रश्न पत्र हल कर रहे थे?
 Were the boys solving the question paper ?

 5.क्या अजय सिगरेट पी रहा था? 
Was Ajay smoking a cigarette?

Interrogative Sentences

Structure: Was / Were + subject +  not + v1 + ing + on + other words ?

Examples:

1.क्या पक्षी आकाश में नहीं उड़ रहे थे ?
Were the birds not flying in the sky?

2. क्या सुनीता पैसे नहीं बचा रही थी?
 Was Sunita not saving money ?

3.क्या वे लोग सरकारी पैसे का दुरुपयोग नहीं कर रहे थे ?
 Were they not misusing the government money ?

4.क्या लड़कियां नाश्ता करते वक्त बात नहीं कर रही थी ?
Were the girls not talking while taking breakfast?

5.क्या प्रवेश वीडियो गेम नहीं खेल रहा था?
 Was Pravesh not playing the video game?

Wh Interrogative Sentences

Structure:Wh word + Was / Were + subject + (not) + v1 + ing + on + other words ?

Examples:



1.वे लोग कहां पर नाच रहे थे ?
Where were they dancinng?


 2.बूढ़ा व्यक्ति तुम्हें गालियां क्यों दे रहा था?
 Why was the old man abusing you?

4.कौन चुपके चुपके हमारी बातें सुन रहा था?
 Who was eavesdropping on us?

5. कल शाम को 7:00 बजे तुम स्कूटी से कहां जा रहे थे ?Where were you going with Scooty at 7:00 p.m. yesterday ?

6.कितना धन वह   खर्च  कर रहा था ?
How much money was he spending ?
